Zhi Duan serves as the Chief Scientist at Vland Biotech Inc.’s Nutrition & Health Technology Center since June 2018, leading research and development in probiotic strain screening and product innovation for the Chinese market. Recognized as a Qingdao Entrepreneurial Innovation Leader and a Taishan Industrial Innovation Leader, Zhi Duan has been influential in promoting scientific research and innovation within the region. Prior experience includes roles as a researcher and project manager at Food Safety Consulting, as well as postdoctoral positions at the National Food Institute, Technical University of Denmark, and the University of Copenhagen, focusing on microbial food safety and cheese ripening. Zhi Duan holds a PhD in Food Science and Biotechnology from the University of Copenhagen, a Master's degree from the Technical University of Denmark, and a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from East China University of Science and Technology.
