Brendan Geary

Brendan Geary serves as the Acting Executive Director of Network Development, Assets & Maintenance at V/Line since January 2024, while also holding the position of Director Asset Coordination. Previously, Brendan was a Committee Member for the Victorian Chapter of the Risk Management Institute of Australasia from April 2022 to April 2024 and worked as an Executive Advisor in Risk, Strategy & Governance at GHD throughout 2023. Brendan has extensive experience at V/Line, where tenure included roles such as Director Transition, Executive General Manager of Corporate Planning & Risk, and Manager of Contracts, Access, and Interfaces from 2007 to 2022. A notable leadership role at the Victorian Department of Health involved directing interjurisdictional workforce relations as part of the COVID-19 response in 2020. Additional experience includes serving as Director at the Public Transport Ombudsman between March 2016 and December 2017. Brendan's educational background includes qualifications in corporate governance and journalism, along with dual degrees in Laws and Arts from the University of Melbourne.
