Sheena Wedderburn-Reid

Sheena Wedderburn-Reid joined VM as Manager – Information Security in 2016 and was appointed Assistant Vice President – Digital Transformation in July 2018. In 2020, in keeping with the organisation’s purposeful move to become a digital leader in the financial services industry, Sheena was appointed to the role of Group Chief Digital Officer.

She is charged with the primary responsibility of driving the adoption of digital technologies across the business through the delivery of multiple technology solutions across a number of initiatives, with a focus on transforming the VM business operations to digital. In her capacity, she has oversight for teams supporting digital innovation, data analytics, solutions development and electronic channel services.

Sheena has over a decade of extensive experience in Information Technology, Security, Risk, Governance, Compliance, Audit and Business Analysis in the financial sector and has notable ability in successfully leading cross-functional teams in analysing an organisation’s critical support functions, assessing its needs and developing innovative solutions, all of which have contributed successfully to the growth of the organisation’s digital agenda.

She holds a Master of Science in Computer-Based Management Information Systems with distinction, and a Bachelor of Science Double Major in Computer Science and Mathematics with honours from the University of the West Indies and maintains certifications in Data Science and Big Data Analytics. She is certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) and is a certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) with the global professional association ISACA.
