Aidas Smaizys

Aidas Smaizys has over 20 years of experience in the field of information technology. Aidas'smost recent position is as the Head of Information Technology Department at VMG Group, starting in December 2021. Prior to this, they served as the IT manager for international projects and innovations at AB Klaipėdos Nafta from October 2020 to December 2021. Aidas also held the role of IT Manager at the same company from April 2000 to October 2020.

Before joining AB Klaipėdos Nafta, Aidas Smaizys worked as an Assoc. Prof. at Klaipėdos University from January 2012 to June 2021. Aidas began their career at the Governor Administration of Klaipeda County, where they held the position of Head of IT dept. from 1999 to 2000.

Aidas Smaizys has a diverse education history spanning over several years. Aidas'seducational journey began in 1992 at Klaipedos Universitetas, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Biophysics, which they completed in 1996. Following this, Aidas continued their academic pursuits and enrolled in Klaipedos Universitetas again in 2002, this time to pursue a Master's degree in Informatics. Aidas successfully completed this degree in 2004. Aidas's educational trajectory then led him to VILNIUS TECH - Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, where they embarked on a PhD program in Informatics Engineering (07T) in 2007. Aidas concluded their doctoral studies at this institution in 2011, earning a PhD in Informatics.
