Tamecka McKay is the current director at VMUG. Tamecka has also previously worked as an adjunct instructor at ITT Technical Institute and as the information technology manager/supervisor at the Town of Davie. In their previous positions, they were responsible for supervising the design, implementation, enhancement, and maintenance of computer software systems, programs, and operational routines. Tamecka also oversaw the overall maintenance of computer systems and related peripheral equipment to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of all information systems. In addition, they supervised day-to-day department operations and employees in the monitoring of the computer room environment, coordination of preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and software/hardware updates with vendors.
Tamecka McKay has a Master of Science in Computer Engineering with a focus in Network Security from Florida International University's College of Engineering & Computing. Tamecka also has a Master of Public Administration from Florida International University. Her undergraduate degree is in Technology Management from Broward College. Tamecka also holds certifications in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals from Microsoft, Lean Six Sigma White Belt Certification from the Office of Strategic Initiative Management at the School Board of Broward County, and ITIL from AXELOS Global Best Practice.
