Yusuf Saber

Yusuf Saber has a diverse work experience in the field of Android development. Yusuf started their career as a .NET Developer at Brock Solutions, where they developed an automated web screen testing software using Selenium. Yusuf also worked at Pareto as an Application Support Developer, where they developed automated support tasks and wrote SQL stored procedures for report generation.

Afterward, Yusuf joined INVIVO Communications Inc. as an Android Developer, where they collaborated with a team to build a COPD-tracking app. Yusuf gained experience in building custom views from scratch during this project.

Yusuf then moved on to a lead role at MoPals, where they built an entire Android app from scratch. This app heavily utilized Google Maps and location tracking to provide personalized offers to users.

At Shyft - Techstars 16', Yusuf took on the role of Lead Android Developer and rebuilt the app from scratch, using an MVC structure and ContentProviders to separate the data from the UI.

Yusuf then worked as a Sr. Android Developer (contract) at Atimi Software, where they fixed various bugs on the Hershey Bears app and utilized Git, Redis, and jGit for managing data.

Yusuf also had contract roles as a Sr. Android Developer at Audible, Inc., where they added a major new feature to the app, and at Kellogg Company, where they were responsible for building the entire app as the sole Android developer on the team.

Currently, Yusuf is working as a Sr. Android Applications Engineer at Vocera Communications (now part of Stryker), where they have achieved significant technical highlights such as reducing the memory footprint of an app and using tools like the Memory Profiler, Eclipse MAT, and LeakCanary.

Throughout their career, Yusuf has gained extensive experience in Android development, collaborating with teams, and resolving technical challenges.

Yusuf Saber obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from Ryerson University. This period of education lasted from 2004 to 2009. Furthermore, they pursued a Master's degree in Applied Science with a specialization in Computer Engineering from the same university. This Master's program lasted from 2009 to 2011.
