Claudette Nitard is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in product management, technical consulting, and engineering. Currently serving as Director of Product and Product Manager at VoiceThread since August 2019, Claudette also co-founded and serves as CTO of Campus Candor, a WebApp that assists students in making informed financial decisions regarding their college education. Previous roles include student consultant positions at Duke Center for WASH-AID and FHI 360, where Claudette developed sustainable business models and improved internal collaboration systems. Claudette's earlier experience includes serving as Managing Director at DUhatch, leading a student incubator, and various technical positions at HubSpot, where significant contributions to data analysis and customer experience resulted in cost savings and recognition via the Champagner award. Claudette holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Science from Smith College and a Master's degree in Engineering Management from Duke University.

We want to serve the needs of a person with dyslexia or ADHD, an outdoor classroom with mobile devices, a user in the developing world without high-speed internet, a kindergartner, or an elderly lifelong learner. In our experience, the only way to do this is by thoughtful and sensitive design, with lots of input from our differently-abled users, and that's something that can't be contained in any number of check-boxes. VoiceThread is optimized for screen-readers, includes alt-text for any document uploads, and comes with multiple captioning options for institutions. VoiceThread works right in your mobile browser so you have the same experience of creating and collaborating around content on a phone or tablet as you do on your computer.
