Dr. Illia Babounikau

Dr. Illia Babounikau is an accomplished data scientist and entrepreneur with a robust background in advanced forecasting, machine learning, and educational technologies. Currently serving as a Staff Data Scientist at VOIDS since September 2025, Dr. Babounikau leads the development of innovative AI solutions for the company's SaaS platform. As Co-Founder and CEO of FunnyStudy UG, initiated in October 2023, Dr. Babounikau is focused on creating Epistemeland, an educational MMORPG that utilizes AI algorithms to enhance learning experiences. Prior experience includes a tenure as Senior Staff Data Scientist at Blue Yonder, where Dr. Babounikau developed tailored forecasting models, and roles as a postdoctoral researcher and PhD student at DESY, engaged in big data analysis at the Large Hadron Collider. Dr. Babounikau holds a Doctorate in Physics from the University of Hamburg and a Specialist degree from Belarusian State University.
