Helio Silva

Helio Silva is an experienced avionics software system engineer currently working at Volant Autonomy since March 2022. Prior to this role, Helio served as a casual research assistant at the University of Bath, focusing on software development and path planning algorithms for unmanned aerial vehicles. Previous experience includes project coordinator positions at British American Tobacco, where Helio was involved in machinery design and prototyping, and BAT, supporting manufacturing innovation initiatives. Helio began a career in engineering with a foundation year project management role at Network Rail. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bath and an International Foundation in Engineering from Abbey College Manchester.
