Juan M. Alvarez

Juan M. Alvarez has a diverse work experience in the logistics and operations field. Juan M. began their career as a Logistics Coordinator at Sigueme Intl. Inc. in 2002 and worked there until 2006. From 2006 to 2014, they held various roles at Chiquita, including Senior Shipping Operations Analyst, Global Equipment Fleet Lead, and Great White Fleet Liner Specialist. In 2014, they joined British American Tobacco as a Regional Logistics Manager for a year. Alvarez then joined Volcafe Ltd. in 2016 and held several positions, starting as a Volcafe Specialty Logistics Manager and later becoming the Volcafe Specialty Operations Manager. In 2020, they were promoted to Genuine Origin Logistics and Operations Manager, and in 2022, they became the Director of Logistics for Volcafe Specialty | Genuine Origin.

Juan M. Alvarez has pursued education at various institutions and in different fields of study. Juan M. participated in the Program on Negotiation and Leadership at Harvard Law School in Cambridge, MA. Juan M. obtained a certification in Production and Inventory Management from The Association for Supply Chain Management in Chicago, IL. Juan also received a certification in Project Management from Tecnológico de Costa Rica. Additionally, they studied Marine Transportation at BIMCO in Denmark, and completed a degree in Industrial Engineering from Tecnológico de Costa Rica.
