Robert Hsiao

Senior Sales Planning Analyst at VOLCOM

Robert Hsiao has a diverse range of work experience spanning different industries. Robert began their career as a Brand Ambassador for Monster Energy in 2011 before moving on to work as an Assistant Manager for Vans a Division of VF Outdoor from 2011 to 2014. Robert then served as an Assistant Manager for Oakley in 2014 and as an Assistant Store Manager for Fjällräven North America from 2015 to 2016.

In 2016, Hsiao transitioned to a sales role as a Sales Consultant for HomeAdvisor. That same year, they joined Mu Sigma Inc. as a Junior Associate - Data Analytics Consultant. Robert later moved up to the role of Associate, where they partnered with business technology stakeholders to identify opportunities for growth and worked with HR analytics teams to predict employee attrition.

Hsiao's next role was as a Data Analyst for SPY in 2019, where they developed detailed reporting across various departments and established strong communication with management and cross-functional teams. Robert then transitioned to Harbor Freight Tools in 2020 as a Senior Business Analyst, specializing in forecasting and demand planning.

In 2021, Hsiao joined Dwindle Distribution as a Demand Planner before being promoted to the role of Senior Planner in 2022. Robert is currently working as a Senior Sales Planning Analyst for VOLCOM, starting in 2023.

Throughout their career, Hsiao has demonstrated skills in data analysis, forecasting, demand planning, and project management. Robert has also received recognition for their exceptional performance in their roles at Mu Sigma Inc. Additionally, Hsiao has experience in sales consulting and management positions in the retail industry.

Robert Hsiao obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Leadership and Development from Texas A&M University. In addition, they have acquired several certifications, including: Forecasting Product Demand in R from DataCamp (September 2020), Checking error and uncertainty spreadsheets from DataCamp (May 2020), Marketing Analytics in Spreadsheets from DataCamp (May 2020), Data Analysis with Spreadsheets from DataCamp (January 2019), Joining Data in SQL from DataCamp (January 2019), and Intro to SQL for Data Science from DataCamp (April 2018). Robert also has certifications in Cluster Analysis in R, Google Analytics, and Intro to Python for Data Science, although the specific dates of obtaining these certifications are unknown.
