Dan MacFarlane has a diverse work experience in various companies. Dan began their career as a Project Manager at Amec Projects and Bovis Construction, where they worked from 1984 to 1992. Dan then joined Darchem as a Major Projects Manager from 1992 to 1994. Following that, they worked at Jarvis as a Director, delivering multi-million-pound design and build railway projects from 1994 to 2000, and then focusing on work winning and delivery of education-related construction projects from 2000 to 2005. Dan then moved to Atkins as a Director, where they provided project management support for London Underground station upgrades from 2005 to 2009 and served as a Senior Technical Site Representative for a nuclear weapons facility from 2009 to 2010. Their most recent role was as the Operations Director (South) at VolkerRail Ltd, where they were responsible for work winning, development, and delivery of multi-million-pound railway-related projects.
From 1978 to 1981, Dan MacFarlane attended Teesside University, where they completed a Bachelor of Science (hons) degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on structures.
