Koen De Waele

Koen has been active for 20+ years in the software sector with a focus on growth, finance, investment and innovation as a strategic advisor to investors, entrepreneurs and executives,

Koen currently sits on the board of Wizata and is non-executive chairman at SupplyStack, a VC-backed SaaS company. Since 2017, Koen is a mentor at Birdhouse accelerator.

In 2002, Koen started in corporate development at Wolters Kluwer Transport Services (now Alpega), an international SaaS and marketplace provider to the transport & logistics industry. Since 2006, Koen was co-managing director, taking up the roles of CFO & Strategy Director, including finance, M&A, partnerships, legal, market research and pricing strategy.

Koen ended his role at Alpega after managing the buyout and carve-out process to a private equity firm in 2017-2018.

Earlier on in his career, Koen had 5 years hands-on experience as investment manager in an early-stage technology Venture Capital fund.
