Marcus Hanwell

Marcus Hanwell is an experienced professional in build engineering and scientific data analysis with a strong background in leadership roles within multinational teams. Currently serving as Build Engineering Manager at Voltron Data since July 2023, Marcus leads efforts in build systems, packaging, CI/CD, and developer workflows. Prior to this role, Marcus spent three years at Brookhaven National Laboratory as Group Leader for the Scientific Data Analysis and Visualization Group, overseeing user interface development, scientific software, and high-performance computing. With over a decade of experience at Kitware Inc. as Technical Lead and R&D Engineer, Marcus has secured substantial R&D funding and contributed to various innovative projects. Additional experience includes a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh, IT consultancy at Cryos Net Consultancy, and a notable summer internship at Google, Inc. Marcus holds a Ph.D. and a Bachelor's Degree in Physics from The University of Sheffield.
