Melanie Yonks has a diverse work experience spanning from 1986 to the present. Melanie began their career as an Associate Producer at WFAA-TV, where they produced a public affairs program. Melanie then worked as a Writer/Producer at JCPenney Company, developing the in-house communications department and producing videos. Melanie later joined GTE as the Internal Communications Manager, where they implemented strategic communications for executives and managed the internal communications department.

Following their time at GTE, Melanie worked as a freelance consultant, specializing in strategic marketing and communications. Melanie provided services such as corporate video and print article production, event coordination, and website development.

In 2013, Melanie became the Director of Marketing and Communications at Hecht Walker P.C., where they supported attorneys by managing the Hecht Walker Newsletter and website, as well as assisting with client development initiatives.

Melanie's passion for environmental sustainability led their to establish Green Strategic Communications in 2022, where they helped NGOs and non-profits align with sustainable development goals and create positive impact.

Melanie also contributed to the nonprofit organization EarthX as the Director of Education and Community Outreach, overseeing youth programming and developing initiatives that reached participants from over 30 countries.

Most recently, Melanie joined VolunteerNow (USA) as the Corporate Engagement Director. In this role, they work closely with corporate clients to create meaningful volunteer service opportunities and establish new corporate relationships. Melanie's work focuses on organizing impactful events that align with the clients' missions and resonate with volunteers.

Melanie Yonks obtained an Advanced Marketing Certificate from SMU Cox in 2019. Melanie also holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Radio-TV-Film from The University of Texas at Austin, which they completed from 1978 to 1982.
