Brian Gavin has over 20 years of work experience in communications, marketing, and fundraising in the nonprofit and media industries. Brian has held senior leadership roles at organizations such as Volunteers of America, Lutheran Social Services of New York, Catholic Charities USA, and Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens. Throughout their career, Brian has successfully increased earned media, generated significant funds through development strategies, and implemented national marketing and fundraising initiatives. Brian has a strong track record of streamlining departments, increasing revenue, and fostering a culture of philanthropy. Prior to their nonprofit work, Brian gained experience as a Graduate Publicity Intern at Fox Broadcasting Company and as a Site Acquisition Consultant at Immediate Wireless Services.

Brian Gavin has a diverse education history. Brian attended Devon Prep from 1992 to 1996 for their high school education. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication with a minor in Business at the University of Scranton from 1996 to 2000. In 2001 to 2002, Brian completed their Master of Arts degree in Public Communications at Fordham University. Brian then enrolled in New York University in 2011 and completed a Certificate in Fundraising in 2012. Currently, Brian is working towards becoming a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and is expected to complete the program in 2022.
