Ermin Zhao

Ermin Zhao has a diverse range of work experience in the field of biology and bioinformatics. They are currently working at Vor Bio as a Scientist II, specializing in computational biology. Prior to this, they worked at Vaxart, Inc. as a Scientist in the field of bioinformatics. Ermin Zhao also gained experience as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where they conducted research. They also held the role of a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at Nanjing University of Finance and Economics, where they conducted various analytical techniques and experiments related to food science. Ermin Zhao also worked as an MS Visiting Scholar at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Before moving to the United States, they worked as a Lecturer at Ganlin Nutrition Consulting Company and as a Fermentation Specialist and Quality Control at Jiangsu Hualv Biotech in China. They also gained research experience as a Research Assistant at China Pharmaceutical University, where they worked on gene-based screening cell models and drug screening.

Ermin Zhao has a diverse education history spanning various fields. Starting in 2005, Ermin attended the High School of Peking University. However, no specific degree or field of study was mentioned for this period. In 2008, Ermin enrolled at China Pharmaceutical University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Analytical Chemistry in 2012.

Following their undergraduate studies, Ermin pursued a Master of Science degree in Biochemistry at Nanjing University of Finance and Economics from 2014 to 2017. During this time, Ermin also obtained a Registered Dietitian certification from the Ministry of Education & Human Resources, Tertiary Education & Scientific Research in May 2012.

Ermin proceeded to pursue a higher level of education and completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Bioinformatics and Genomics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 2017 to 2021. In February 2022, Ermin obtained their official Doctor of Philosophy certification from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

In addition to their formal education, Ermin has also acquired additional certifications. In June 2014, Ermin earned a Yoga Specialty Certification from Mingdao Yoga. These additional certifications showcase Ermin's diverse skill set and interests beyond their formal education.
