Mike Fanning

Mike Fanning is the current CEO at Vortex Surgical. Mike has over 15 years of experience in the medical device industry, with a focus on retinal surgical devices. Mike has held various positions at Vortex Surgical and its predecessor, Synergetics. As Vice President of Sales at Synergetics, they were responsible for leading and directing the domestic sales organization to exceed company financial and strategic objectives. Mike also designed and executed to-market sales strategies for a full line of capital and disposable retinal products. In this role, they collaborated with the business development team on technology transfers and integration team to maximize opportunities on acquired companies and technologies.

Mike Fanning's educational career includes completing a college prep program at St. Edward High School, earning a BA in Political Science and Government from John Carroll University, and completing an executive education program in Business Administration and Management from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
