Sam Paton is a Biomedical Scientist at VoxCell BioInnovation since September 2023, with prior experience as a Graduate Student Researcher at the CERVO Brain Research Centre. During the tenure at CERVO, Sam designed in vivo and in vitro experiments to explore protective factors against chronic stress affecting the blood-brain barrier while analyzing gene expression and blood vessel morphology in brain tissue. Previous roles include Lead Bartender at Sun Peaks Resort and Research Assistant at Dalhousie University, where Sam focused on the culture of immortalized human brain endothelial cells and the design of pharmacological experiments. Sam began the career as a Research Interviewer with the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging from November 2016 to April 2019. Sam holds a Master of Science in Neuroscience from Université Laval and a B.Sc. Honours in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with a Minor in Neuroscience from Dalhousie University.
