Maria Masiar

Maria Masiar has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Maria is currently working at VTS as the Senior Director of Product Design, where they oversee design operations, sets design vision and strategy, and manages a team of 15 designers. Prior to that, they worked as the Director of Product Design at VTS and as a Senior UX Designer at Jungle Scout.

Maria also has experience in the financial services industry, having worked as a Principal Consultant at Capco, where they redesigned a commercial banking back-end platform and supported digital transformation initiatives. Maria has also worked at IBM as a Senior UX/UI Designer, leading UX efforts and coaching the creative team in enterprise design thinking.

In addition, Maria has held leadership positions at Glacier Media Group as the VP of User Experience, Systems, & Design, where they rebuilt the technical foundations of the company, and at xMatters, Inc as a UX Lead, where they integrated UX into Agile processes and championed user experience and analytics.

Earlier in their career, Maria worked at Auto Trader as a UX consultant, re-designing the AutoTrader.ca website and creating mobile experiences. Maria also worked at Make Technologies, a Dell Company, as a UX Consultant, Anika International as an E-commerce Manager, and UNESCO as a UX/UI Consultant.

Maria Masiar graduated from the University of Toronto in 2001 with a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree, majoring in Management & Economics. Before attending university, they attended Sir Winston Churchill Highschool from 1994 to 1997. In terms of additional certifications, Maria has obtained various certifications from institutions such as IBM, Nielsen Norman Group, Lynda.com, and Interaction Design Foundation (IDF).
