Misha Persiantsev has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of engineering. Misha started their career in 1999 at Integrated Computing Engines, Inc., where they worked as a Principal Engineer. At this company, they developed parallel DSP algorithms for digital audio/video compression and special effects. Misha also contributed to the architecture and development of the company's flagship professional video/audio compositing, editing, and web streaming machine.
In 2002, they joined SeaChange Systems as a Consulting Engineer. Here, they designed and developed a prototype for a next-generation self-healing spatially distributed storage system and developed real-time seamless splicing technology for high-definition DVB/MPEG-2 streams. Misha also proposed, designed, and developed an MPEG TS Analyzer, a visual diagnostics tool for analyzing and testing MPEG/DVB transport streams.
In 2004, Misha worked as a Consultant at Polaroid Corporation, where they developed an embedded image processing platform for a family of proprietary printers. Misha also developed various image enhancement and manipulation algorithms for this platform.
From 2004 to 2006, they worked as a Consulting Engineer at Broadbus Technologies, where they were responsible for adopting and incorporating new emerging technologies into the company's video server. Misha also co-architected and prototyped new On-Demand applications.
In 2006, Misha joined ATI Research as a Staff Engineer/Team Lead in Advanced R&D. Here, they were responsible for developing turn-key custom application-ready solutions for HDTV. Misha also led a team of engineers in audio/video streaming and played a key role in the architecture and implementation of the company's Photo Viewer application.
From 2007 to 2008, they worked as the Chief Engineer of Image Processing at RedShift Systems. In this role, they co-architected, designed, and implemented an embedded image processing pipeline for infrared and fusion imaging modules. Misha also developed research tools and performed analysis of filters for image quality and performance benchmarking.
From 2008 to 2011, Misha worked as a Principal Engineer in Advanced Development at L-3 Communications. Here, they focused on advanced development and architecture and supported various projects within the company.
In 2011, they joined Goodrich ISR Systems as the Chief Engineer of Next Generation Systems. At this company, they were a key member of a team responsible for the architecture, algorithms, and transport protocols of an imaging pipeline for a small-footprint sensor.
Before joining their current position, Misha worked at Verance from 2012 to 2016 as a Principal Engineer. Here, they co-invented and co-architected a unique HVS-based technology and system for video watermarking. Misha led the team's R&D effort and developed various research tools for the system.
Since 2016, they have been working at Vulcan Inc. as a Principal Engineer.
Misha Persiantsev holds a Ph.D. in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics, which they obtained from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (State University) (MIPT) from 1983 to 1986. Prior to this, they earned a Master's Degree in Physics from Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) between 1975 and 1981. In addition to their formal education, Misha Persiantsev has also pursued additional certifications. Misha completed a course on Image and Video Processing from Coursera in April 2017, and in February 2016, they obtained a certification in Machine Learning from Stanford University through Coursera Course Certificates.
