Pedro is responsible for the creation and development of strategies for gene therapy vectors employing the Zika virus. He’s also responsible for the execution of the oncolytic virus platform. Pedro graduated from the Federal University of Uberlandia with a bachelor's degree in biotechnology. He completed his scientific initiation in the fields of biochemistry, bioprocesses, and fermentative processes. While on exchange in Portugal, he worked as a researcher at the University of Minho's Center for Biological Engineering, where he focused on the development of bioproducts. He was an intern at the Butantan Institute's genetics laboratory, working with human papillomavirus (HPV) and bovine papillomavirus (BPV). He's a master's degree student at the University of Sao Paulo working on the development of an epitope-based vaccine against the human papillomavirus (HPV) and the SARS-CoV-2 at Butantan Institute.
