Gašper Bertoncelj is an infosec and privacy expert with a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Gašper currently holds the position of Chief Information Security Officer at Vzajemna zdravstvena zavarovalnica, d.v.z since December 2019. Prior to that, they served as the Data Protection Officer at Slovenian Rheumatic Association from May 2018.

Before taking up these roles, Gašper worked as an Independent IT Consultant, partnering with companies in various sectors to provide expertise in information technology and multimedia. Gašper was involved in problem identification, proposing solutions, implementation, and technical support.

From 2015 to 2019, Gašper served as a Sectoral Adviser at Arnes, where they managed information security, privacy, and data protection matters. Gašper also performed security audits and worked with critical infrastructure for DNS services.

Earlier in their career, they worked as an Administrator at J&S International d.o.o. from 2010 to 2012, where they performed technical and administrative duties and provided bookkeeping services. Gašper began their professional journey as a Broadcast Technician at Televizija Medvode in 1996, where they worked as a studio and TV news cameraman, conducted editing tasks, and provided technical support services. Gašper later became a Television Reporter, responsible for preparing and presenting material for pre-recorded pieces and documentary production.

Gašper began their academic journey in 2010, enrolling in B2 d.o.o., Higher Vocational school, where they pursued an Engineer's degree in Information Science/Studies. This laid the foundation for their future studies in the field of technology and security. From 2012 to 2014, Bertoncelj attended B2 d.o.o. and Ljubljana School of Business, earning a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Business Informatics.

Seeking further specialization and knowledge, Bertoncelj continued their studies and obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Management and Informatics from B2 Ljubljana School of Business. This advanced degree enhanced their understanding of both management principles and informatics, providing him with a comprehensive skill set to excel in the field.
