Deidra C. Merriwether

Deidra C. Merriwether is the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Grainger. Deidra has over 20 years of experience in leadership roles in the retail industry.

Deidra began their career at PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Manager of the Senior Leadership Program. Deidra then transitioned to Isiah Investments where they served as the Chief Operations Officer. In this role, they were responsible for internet development, real estate, and other investments. Deidra then consolidated and purchased the Continental Basketball League (CBA) franchises.

In 2000, Deidra joined Kmart Corp. as the Divisional Vice President of Procurement. Five years later, they joined Sears Holdings Corporation as the Vice President of SHC Procurement & Merger Integration. In 2011, Deidra was promoted to Sears Holdings Corporation’s Senior Vice President and President of Retail Services. During their time at Sears Holdings Corporation, Deidra focused on Continuous Improvement activities across SHC - Lean/Six Sigma planning & implementation, driving sustainable profit improvement and sourcing strategies. In 2012, they were also appointed as the Chief Operating Officer of Retail Formats.

Deidra has been with Grainger since September 2013 and has served as their Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since February 2014.

Deidra C. Merriwether earned their MBA from the Indiana University - Kelley School of Business, with a focus in finance and operations management. Prior to that, they completed their BS in chemical engineering from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. Deidra's educational career began at Southfield High School, where they were a member of the National Honor Society and participated in womens track and basketball.
