Karthik Ramanathan

Karthik Ramanathan is a Senior Applied Machine Learning Scientist at Grainger, beginning in November 2023. Previously, Karthik served as a Senior Data Scientist at Tala from June 2021 to August 2023, where innovative machine learning models were developed to evaluate creditworthiness using alternative data, impacting over 2 million users in the Philippines and projected to enhance profits by 40%. Prior experience includes roles as an Analytics Engineer at Tempus Labs, Inc., where Karthik built production-quality data flows, and as a Data Scientist at Uptake, responsible for the full model lifecycle and improving customer engagement. Karthik's career began as a Data Scientist at the World Bank Group, focusing on automating data requests and creating data visualizations. Karthik holds a Master’s Degree in Informatics from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.
