As Practice Leader, Executive Communications, Barbara provides counsel on media strategy, narrative development and storytelling, presentation and media coaching as well as reputation management. W2O’s Executive Communications Practice is designed to improve leadership capabilities, specifically communications skills, of spokespeople and C-Suite executives to speak clearly and memorably across all venues and platforms.

Barbara is a veteran broadcast journalist and former correspondent and anchor for CNBC, ABC Network News and PBS. She was previously at FleishmanHillard where she focused on strategic executive coaching, storytelling and media strategy. Prior to that, Barbara spent more than a decade as a Correspondent for ABC News, based in Washington, DC and then, Chicago.

She was a regular contributor to “World News Tonight”, “Good Morning America”, “Nightline”, BBC, YahooNews, ABC Radio and other ABC News-affiliated broadcast platforms.

Prior to joining ABC News, Barbara was a correspondent at CNBC where she followed breaking financial news including the dot-com implosion and global economic trends. She also contributed in-depth weekly segments for the internationally syndicated “Wall Street Journal Report”, and served as a news anchor at CNBC and MSNBC. Barbara also co-hosted “In the Loop” for WYCC-PBS Chicago, a weekly program focused on news and politics.

Her journalism work has earned recognition from the Society of Professional Journalists, the Associated Press, NY Broadcasters Association and the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

Barbara’s work, now largely focused on the life sciences, spans start-ups to major consumer brands including: Anheuser Busch, Astellas, Cancer Research Institute, CRSPR, General Motors, GSK, Elanco, Eli Lilly, Exact Sciences, Jetblue, Johnson & Johnson, L’Oreal, Merck, NIKE, Olympus, Pfizer, Samsung, Takeda, Vans, Zimmer Biomet and others.

A native of New York, Barbara is a graduate of Houghton College.
