You will…

  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of the Waabi class 8 autonomous trucking fleet to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues with vehicle mechanical systems, electrical components, sensors, and other vehicle systems.
  • Perform repairs and replacements of faulty components or systems, adhering to Waabi developed work instructions, manufacturer guidelines, and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with all teams to provide feedback on technical issues, contribute to continuous improvement efforts, and assist in the development of new features or upgrades.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
  • Provide technical support to truck operators on vehicle systems, operation procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in technology, and regulatory requirements related to autonomous and Class 8 vehicles.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Support Waabi’s safety culture.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in automotive technology, electrical engineering, or related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a technician or mechanic, preferably in the automotive, heavy-duty trucking, or technology industry. ASE certifications are highly desirable.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with truck maintenance and repair, is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with autonomous driving technology, including sensors, cameras, GPS, and onboard computer systems, is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, software, and equipment for vehicle maintenance and repair.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Valid Class-A driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and travel as needed.
  • Commitment to safety, attention to detail, and adherence to protocols and procedures.
  • Open-minded and collaborative team player with the willingness to help others.
  • Passionate about self-driving technologies, solving hard problems, and creating innovative solutions.
