Jur van den Berg

Jur van den Berg started their work experience as a Postdoctoral Researcher at UC Berkeley in 2009, specializing in Medical Robotics. Jur then worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 2010 to 2011, focusing on Computer Science. Jur joined the University of Utah in 2011 as an Assistant Professor and Director of the Algorithmic Robotics Lab until 2013. From 2014 to 2015, they served as a Researcher/Developer at Google[x]. Jur then worked at Apple as a Senior Researcher/Developer from 2015 to 2016. Jur was a Senior Researcher/Developer at Otto, an autonomous trucking startup, from February to August 2016 before being acquired by Uber. At Uber, they held the position of Senior Staff Autonomy Engineer from August 2016 to May 2018. Jur co-founded Ike in 2018 and served as CTO until January 2021. Jur then joined Nuro as a Senior Software Engineer from January 2021 to September 2022. Currently, they work as a Principal Software Engineer at Waabi since September 2022.

Jur van den Berg received their MSc/BSc in Computer Science from the University of Groningen, where they studied from 1998 to 2003. Following that, they pursued a PhD in Computer Science at Utrecht University from 2003 to 2007.
