Dr. Norman R. Smith

Dr. Norman R. Smith has held various leadership roles in higher education institutions, serving as President at Wagner College and Richmond The American International University in London. Dr. Norman R. also served as Interim President at Suffolk University, Dowling College, and Elmira College. Dr. Smith was the Founding Chancellor of The Alamein University in Egypt and served as Assistant Dean at Harvard University and Vice President at Philadelphia University. Dr. Norman R. is currently a Team Leader for Board Governance & Leadership Practice at the Registry for College and University Presidents & Registry Advisory Services.

Dr. Norman R. Smith holds a Bachelor of Science in Management from Drexel University's LeBow College of Business, which they completed in 1969. Dr. Norman R. went on to earn their MBA in Organizational Leadership from the same institution in 1971. Dr. Smith later pursued their Doctor of Education in Philosophy of Education from Harvard University in 1984, and their Ed. D. in Education from Harvard Graduate School of Education from 1981 to 1984. Additionally, they received honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degrees from Wagner College and Philadelphia University in 2002, and a Doctor of Education Honoris Causa from Richmond, The American International University in London in 2008.
