Education Manager at Waikato-Tainui

Kimai Huirama serves as the Education Manager at Waikato Tainui since October 2017, leading the Education Team and chairing the Hapū entity, Ngā Ūri o Tamainupō ki Whaingaroa Trust, while also representing the iwi on various Ministry of Education advisory groups. Additionally, Kimai has held the role of Education Pathways Project Advisor at Waikato-Tainui since May 2015, focusing on initiatives such as STEM education and educational partnerships. Prior experience includes 13 years at the Ministry of Education of New Zealand, where Kimai worked in various capacities, including educator, lead facilitator, and assistant principal. Kimai holds a Master of Science degree in Environmental Chemistry from The University of Waikato.
