Tymarah Mtendera

Tymarah Mtendera, RHIA, has a robust background in health information management, currently serving as an Outpatient Coder I and Health Information Data Specialist at WakeMed since November 2022. In this role, Tymarah is involved with the Patient Identity Team and Patient Amendment Team, along with responsibilities in Release of Information, Chart Auditing based on CMS guidelines, DRG Appeals Coordination, and handling legal requests. Prior experience includes an HIM Operations Internship at Wayne UNC Health Care, where Tymarah gained training in coding and reimbursement, supported mental health reporting in North Carolina, and contributed to policy reviews in alignment with Joint Commission and CMS standards. Tymarah holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Services and Information Management from East Carolina University, with a minor in Business Administration.
