Carolin Bartels has extensive work experience in the field of research and development in the medical industry. Carolin started their career in 2001 as an Orthopädiemechanikerin und Bandagistin at Sanitätshaus Hofmann GmbH, where they completed their apprenticeship. Carolin then worked as an Orthopädiemechanikerin und Bandagistin at Sanitätshaus Scharpenberg before moving on to internships at Bauerfeind AG and Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft in 2007 and 2008, respectively. In 2008, they also completed a Diplomandin role at Fraunhofer IPA, where they focused on the conception and development of measurement tools for ultrasound-assisted kinematic description of skeletal components.
In 2009, Carolin joined BSN medical for a short period as part of the New Product Development team. Later that year, they joined Waldemar Link GmbH & Co. KG in a role as an Entwicklungsingenieur and subsequently took on the role of Projektleitung / Entwicklungsingenieur from 2013 to 2015. Carolin then became the Teamleader R&D Revision & Knee Endoprothetics until 2020 when they were promoted to Deputy Head of R&D.
Carolin Bartels earned a degree in Technische Orthopädie, specifically a Diplom-Ingenieurin (Dipl.Ing.), from FH Münster. Carolin attended the institution from 2005 to 2009.
