Jay Poorman

Jay provides M&A, capital raising and valuation advice to a variety of insurance, insurance distribution and claims services companies nationwide.

Prior to joining Waller Helms, Jay was a Partner and Managing Director at StoneRidge Advisors, LLC, an insurance-focused investment banking firm. Previously, Jay was a Managing Director with Cochran Caronia Waller, an investment banking boutique serving the insurance industry. Jay started his investment banking career as an Analyst in the insurance group of Salomon Smith Barney and was a Vice President at Salomon Smith Barney prior to joining Cochran Caronia Waller.

Jay has over twenty-five years of investment banking experience, focused primarily on the insurance industry. Jay has advised on many significant transactions, including involving Sedgwick, ProAssurance, Health Care Service Corporation, Worley, Gallagher Bassett and Engle Martin.

Jay received his Bachelor of Business Administration with honors in accounting and finance from the University of Michigan.
