Chris Smith has a long and varied work experience. Chris began their career in 2017 as Lead Software Engineer at GivingTools, where they developed infrastructure powering $43 million in fundraising for nonprofits. In 2018, they worked as Kill Bill Consultant at Textellent, Inc. In 2019, they were Development Lead at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology, where they planned, designed, implemented, and tested software with a small team of 6 people in the university's High Performance Computing Laboratory. In 2020, they held two positions: Software Engineer at Fathom, where they implemented a variety of internal projects including LaunchPad, a WordPress site orchestrator tool built on-top of Kubernetes, and System Architect at Gridlock, where they worked with a team of 5 people to develop Gridlock's core crypto and blockchain library for distributed key generation, signing, and social recovery using ZenGoX's threshold signature library. Chris also developed backend microservices in Rust and implemented operations to deploy to AWS, as well as implementing an API for a React app. Currently, Chris is working as Software Engineer at Liberas, Inc. since 2021 and Rust Engineer at WalletConnect since 2023.

Chris Smith received a Bachelor's degree in Computer Software Engineering from Harrisburg University of Science and Technology in 2021. Chris had previously started their studies in 2017. Following that, they obtained a Master's degree in Computer Software Engineering from the same university in 2021.
