Eric Barber

Head, School at Walnut Hill School for the Arts

Eric Barber is the current Head of School at Walnut Hill School for the Arts. Prior to their current position, they served as the Director of Admission and Enrollment Management at The Evergreen School from September 2011 to June 2015. In this role, Eric oversaw all admission programs and evaluations for a preschool-Grade 8 independent school of 450 students. Eric increased applications, yield, selectivity, and student of color demographics to record numbers. Eric also implemented accessibility initiatives, adopted online admission reading software, and raised the visibility of the school through outreach. Eric redesigned all admission events, visit day structures, and admission committee processes for all divisions. Eric also served on senior leadership team and board committees.

Prior to their role at The Evergreen School, Eric served as the Service Learning Coordinator at Lakeside School from September 2006 to June 2008. Eric also served as the Associate Director of Admissions, Outreach Coordinator at Lakeside School from August 2004 to November 2011. In this role, they were responsible for managing the admissions process for Lakeside School’s day and boarding programs for grades 6-12. Eric also created and implemented various marketing and recruitment strategies aimed at increasing visibility of the school both nationally and internationally. Eric also oversaw the budget for the admissions office and managed a team of five staff members.
