Matthew Conte

Principal Investigator, Bioinformatics at Walter Reed Army Institute of Research

Matthew Conte began their work experience as a REU Co-op at Los Alamos National Laboratory in 2002. Matthew later worked as a Faculty Research Assistant at the University of Maryland, College Park from September 2005 to September 2007. In 2007, they joined the University of Maryland, College Park as a Bioinformatics Specialist, and later became a Bioinformatics Scientist from December 2007 to October 2020. Continuing their career, they became the Principal Investigator, Bioinformatics at Walter Reed Army Institute of Research in October 2020. In 2011, they also had a brief role as a Teaching Assistant at the Workshop on Comparative Genomics.

Matthew Conte attended the University of Maryland from 2013 to 2018, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD degree in Biological Sciences. Prior to that, from 2000 to 2005, they completed a B.S./M.S. degree in Bioinformatics at the Rochester Institute of Technology.
