Malini Udayabhan

Malini Udayabhan, MS, Kellogg MBA has over 18 years of professional experience. Malini began their career as a Database Developer & Programmer at Intraplanet Communications Private Ltd in 2002. In 2003, they moved on to become a Graduate Assistant at the University of Illinois at Chicago. In 2005, they took on the role of Junior Database Administrator at Advansoft International, Inc. In 2006, they became a Database Administrator at FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, where they provided round the clock support for databases supporting the DealerConnect portal.

In 2009, Malini moved to Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association as a Team Lead - Database Services, where they created and coordinated a 10 member team to implement a 200TB database archive procedure. Malini was then promoted to Manager and then to Director Service Delivery, where they spearheaded a multiyear effort to revamp the hardware for BCBSA’s National Data Warehouse and surrounding applications.

In 2019, Malini joined Discover Financial Services as Sr. Manager Cloud Data Platforms and Analytic Engineering. Malini served as both leader and mentor to a focused team of 24 engineers around cloud services, analytic tools, automation, and IaC, delivering next generation streaming and data technologies with a budget of ~$10 Million. Malini enabled capabilities and delivered the Openshift/Kubernetes platform for Analytics use cases. Most recently, in 2022, they joined Waltz Health as the Senior Director Cloud Services and Infrastructure.

Malini Udayabhan holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Chicago, which they completed in 2004. Malini also holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from Osmania University, which they completed in 2002. Her undergraduate degree is a Bachelors in Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science from Osmania University, which they completed in 2000. In 2018, they began their MBA in Business Administration and Management, General from the Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management and is expected to complete it in 2021.
