Mehdi Fatemi

Mehdi Fatemi is a seasoned researcher specializing in reinforcement learning and artificial intelligence, currently serving as Senior Researcher and Team Lead at Wand since March 2024, where the focus is on integrating "wisdom" into AI systems. Previously, Mehdi held the position of Senior Researcher at Microsoft from January 2017 to March 2024, advancing both reinforcement learning and sequential reasoning before their tenure as a Research Scientist at Maluuba from August 2015 to January 2017, where foundational work for intelligent agents took place. Mehdi began a career in research during a Postdoctoral Fellowship at McMaster University (2010-2015), culminating in writing a book on cognitive control. Earlier experiences include roles as a Research Engineer at the National Research Council Canada and graduate research at both McMaster University and Memorial University, with educational credentials comprising a Ph.D. in Computational Science and Engineering, an MSc in Computational Science, and a B.Sc. in Physics.
