Josh Jacobs is the Sustainability Director at WAP Sustainability. Josh has dedicated their career to sustainability, environmentalism, and green initiatives.
Josh began their career at UL in March of 2008 as the Director of Environmental Codes & Standards. In this role, they were responsible for leading the development of LEED v4.1 and shepherding over 30 new pilot credits for the LEED rating system. Josh also served as the Vice-Chair of ASHRAE 189.1, reconfiguring the code document to include jurisdictional electives and make it more adoptable. As Chairman of the US Technical Advisory Group for the development of ISO 20400 Sustainable Procurement standard, Josh represented the US TAG at numerous international meetings of delegates to develop this important internationally utilized standard.
In addition to their work with various standards organizations, Josh has also assisted numerous governmental agencies and organizations understand the ISO 20400 Sustainable Procurement standard and its principals. Josh has also worked with global governmental authorities on their procurement and purchasing plans to ensure that environmentally favorable/sustainably focused purchasing was required and referenced correctly; including but not limited to the United States General Services Administration, Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Energy and the Armed Forces; the States of New York and California; and Cities of New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco; UK’s Parliament.
