Will Johnston

Will Johnston has a diverse work experience in software engineering roles. Will is currently working at Warbler Labs as a Senior Software Engineer since May 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Software Engineer at Warbler Labs from September 2021 to May 2022. Will also has experience working at Goldfinch as a Contributor since September 2021.

Before joining Warbler Labs and Goldfinch, Will worked at Adobe as a Senior Software Engineer from February 2020 to September 2021, and as a Software Engineer from January 2019 to February 2020. During their time at Adobe, they focused on full stack development, utilizing various programming languages and technologies such as PHP, JavaScript, Java, Scala, SQL, cloud functions, Linux containers, Docker, and React. Will also played a significant role in building RESTful microservices and integrating Marketo software partners with the Marketo lead management product.

Prior to Adobe, Will worked at Marketo as an Associate Software Engineer from July 2018 to December 2018, where they were involved in full stack development and similar projects as at Adobe.

Will also gained valuable work experience at Datto, Inc. as a Software Engineer Internship from January 2017 to May 2017. During their internship, they were part of the Core Products team and focused on full stack development using PHP, Symfony, Javascript, SQL, Elasticsearch, Kibana, HTML, and CSS. Will contributed to maintaining the PHP codebase and developed a visualization tool for backup success rate and other metrics.

Earlier in their career, Will worked at Global Thinking as a Software Engineer from January 2016 to January 2017, and as a Software Engineer Intern from June 2015 to January 2016. Their responsibilities included full stack web development using PHP, Magento, Javascript, CSS, and HTML. Will also designed and implemented inventory management features and a secure document sharing tool for the company's web-to-print platform.

Will Johnston attended the Rochester Institute of Technology from 2014 to 2018, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science. In 2014, they also obtained a certification in Cryptography from Coursera.
