Mur Muchane

Trustee at Warren Wilson College

Mur Muchane is currently a Trustee at Warren Wilson College. Prior to that, they served as the CIO at Davidson College from July 1999 to December 2014. In this role, they provided senior-level leadership, vision, policy advice, and management for all aspects of information technology. Major systems included Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), data centers, data warehouse, telecommunications, large-scale fiber-optic network, wireless network, cable television, multimedia services, videoconferencing, user support, and training. Mur also developed and implemented IT strategic plans to keep up with evolving campus needs and advances in technology. Additionally, they managed a diverse and complex array of concurrent IT projects and a skilled and diverse staff of IT professionals. Mur conducted regular goal setting and performance feedback sessions with five direct reports and served as an institutional representative at national and regional organizations, conferences and meetings.

Prior to their role at Davidson College, Mur Muchane worked as a Consultant at SAIC from January 1998 to December 1998. Before that, they served as the Associate Director of Academic and Research Services at the University of Tennessee from January 1993 to June 1999. In this role, they managed a wide variety of academic and research programs and services. Mur also oversaw the development and implementation of new programs and services in response to changing needs within the university. Additionally, they managed a large budget and supervised a staff of professionals.

Mur Muchane has a Master of Science in Planning (Spatial Information Systems) from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Business Administration from Warren Wilson College.
