Ricardo Opperman

Ricardo Opperman is the Managing Director of Wärtsilä North America Inc., responsible for overseeing subsidiary operations while ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and supporting group-wide programs in QHES, Sustainability, and Compliance since July 2019. Previous roles at Wärtsilä include Director of the Cruise Segment, where Ricardo engaged with strategic customers to foster long-term partnerships and led organizational business plans, and Regional Manager for Voyage Services in the Americas, focused on growth strategies. Prior to Wärtsilä, Ricardo spent over 16 years at HOERBIGER in various leadership roles, including Head of Business Unit for the USA and Canada and Managing Director for the Andean Region in LATAM. Early career experiences include positions at Harris Corporation as a Business Development and Sales Support professional and at Siemens as a Proposal Engineer and Contract Administrator. Ricardo holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Production Engineering from the Universidade de São Paulo.
