Angel Romero

Board Member at Washburn University

Angel Romero was appointed to the Washburn Board of Regents by Governor Kelly effective August 1, 2022.

Romero serves as the Vice President for Resource Development at United Way of Greater Topeka. In his role, he oversees all United Way fundraising activities, including workplace campaign, major giving, planned gifts, and grants. Prior to coming to United Way, he worked in data collection for the Kansas Board of Regents.

Angel moved to Topeka in 2006 to attend Washburn University. He graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and went on to graduate from Washburn School of Law in 2013 with a Juris Doctorate, making him a proud double-Ichabod alum. He serves on various community boards, including Capital Area Crime Stoppers, and the Jayhawk Area Council-Boy Scouts of America. In addition, he serves on the board for the Kansas Association for Youth Alumni Network and spends one week each summer mentoring high school students at KAY Leadership Camp. He is a 2010 graduate of Leadership Greater Topeka, a 2011 20-Under-40 honoree, and a member of the 2022 class of Leadership Kansas.
