Emergency Management Coordinator at Washington County

Alita Fitz is an accomplished emergency management professional with extensive experience in various roles. Currently serving as Vice President of the Oregon Emergency Management Association since October 2022 and Emergency Management Coordinator for Washington County since March 2019, Alita has implemented critical alerting systems and led significant projects focused on community emergency readiness. Previous roles include Emergency Preparedness Fellow at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, where Alita led planning and review for major exercises, and internships in agencies such as the Delaware County Emergency Management Agency and the Philadelphia Office of Emergency Management, where Alita contributed to disaster preparedness resources and GIS data analysis. Alita holds a Master’s of Science in Disaster Medicine and Management from Thomas Jefferson University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Geography from Villanova University.
