Workplace Violence Coordinator/ Emergency Management Planner

Ferris A. Simmons is an experienced professional with a diverse background in emergency management, mental health counseling, and law enforcement. Currently serving as a Workplace Violence Coordinator and Emergency Management Planner at Sandia National Laboratories since April 2022, Ferris also has experience as a CSW specializing in Training and Outreach at Krossroads Behavioral Health. Prior roles include Lieutenant and Public Information Officer at the Albuquerque Police Department, as well as various positions such as Sergeant and Police Officer with a focus on clandestine lab investigations and narcotics. Ferris holds a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from New Mexico Highlands University and has completed leadership training at Northwestern University's School of Staff and Command and the IACP Leadership School, alongside various other educational credentials in law enforcement and business. Additionally, Ferris has actively contributed as a volunteer with organizations including Walkin in Circles Horse Rescue and United Way.
