Maurice Hampton

Maurice Hampton is an experienced higher education administrator currently serving as Dean of Students at Washington Leadership Academy Public Charter School since July 2019. In this role, Maurice oversees social programs and student support, collaborates with various departments, and addresses student needs. Additionally, Maurice has an extensive background in education and special education, having worked as a Title I Assistant at The SEED School of Maryland since October 2015, where responsibilities include co-teaching and providing instructional support. Other roles encompass being a Student Life Counselor, Assistant Dean, and long-term substitute in various educational settings, along with experience as a residential counselor and instructor in a summer youth program. Maurice's career also includes professional sports experience as a defensive tackle with the Detroit Lions and the University of Maryland football team. Maurice holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences from the University of Maryland, obtained in 2012.
