Phillip Staub

Phillip Staub is an experienced legal professional with a robust background in governance, human resources, and civil rights within the transit sector. Since November 2014, Phillip has served as Chief Counsel at the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), overseeing a team and managing outside counsel on key issues affecting a 13,000-employee organization. Prior to this role, Phillip held various positions at WMATA, including Associate General Counsel and Assistant General Counsel, where responsibilities included providing legal guidance on a wide range of matters, developing policies, and handling complex litigation. Phillip began the legal career at Daniel S. Willard, PC, focusing on commercial and civil litigation. Academic credentials include a Juris Doctor from The George Washington University Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Penn State University.
