Sassan Davoodi

Sassan Davoodi, P.E. is currently serving as the Director of Mechanical Engineering at the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) starting from September 2022. Prior to this, they had a long tenure at MTA New York City Transit, where they held various positions including Construction Manager, Director of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), Sr. Quality Control Specialist, and Rail Car Equipment & Systems Engineer. Sassan'swork experience at MTA New York City Transit spans from 1990 to August 2022.

Sassan Davoodi, P.E. received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1985. Sassan went on to complete their M.S. in Mechanical Engineering at the same institution in 1988. In 1996, they obtained an M.E. in Civil Engineering (Transportation) from The City College of New York.
