Executive Director, Ballpark Enterprises at Washington Nationals

Karen Kelly Morris, CMP has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries.

Starting in 2023, they are currently serving as the Executive Director of Ballpark Enterprises at the Washington Nationals. In this role, they are responsible for managing the success of the department by developing new ventures, negotiating deals with promoters, marketing and selling corporate events, and identifying new revenue streams for Nationals Park.

Prior to their current position, from 2019 to 2023, Karen worked as the Director of National Accounts at Visit Phoenix. Their main focus was bringing citywide conventions to Phoenix by closely collaborating with the Phoenix Convention Center and downtown hotels. Karen handled the Washington DC, Virginia, Maryland, and Delaware region.

From 2015 to 2019, they worked as the Director of Meetings & Events at ASTA - American Society of Travel Advisors. During their time there, they oversaw the planning and execution of meetings and events for the organization.

Before that, from 2012 to 2015, they served as a Travel Program Manager at Dittman Incentive Marketing. Their responsibilities included sourcing venues, creating proposals and programs for corporate incentive travel, planning complete incentive travel programs, and organizing large-scale meetings.

From 2007 to 2012, they worked as the Director of Destination Services at Savannah CVB, where they played a key role in providing services and support to visitors and organizations hosting events in Savannah.

Karen has also gained experience in other roles earlier in their career. From 2006 to 2007, they served as a Simulation Administrator at Interpretive Software. In 2006, they worked as an Intern at the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Chamber of Commerce. In addition, they served as a Webmaster at JMU from 2005 to 2006 and as a Teacher's Assistant at Stone Spring Elementary from 2002 to 2004.

Karen Kelly Morris, CMP, has a diverse educational background. Karen earned their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management, General from The George Washington University School of Business, which they completed from 2021 to 2024. Prior to their MBA, Karen obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree from James Madison University (JMU) in 2006. During their time at JMU, they studied in the School of Media Arts and Design, specializing in Media Art and Design with a concentration in Journalism. Karen has also obtained certification as a Certified Meeting Professional from the Convention Industry Council, although the specific details of when they obtained this certification are not provided.
