Sterling McPherson, Ph.D., is a seasoned academic and researcher with extensive experience in the field of medicine and psychology. Currently serving as a Professor of Medicine and Assistant Dean for Research at Washington State University Spokane's Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine, Sterling also holds the position of Director for Biostatistics and Clinical Trial Design and previously served as an Associate Professor and Assistant Professor in related areas. With a background in behavioral pharmacology, Sterling has contributed to the Program of Excellence in Addictions Research (PEAR) and worked as an Associate Director for Analytics and Discovery at Providence Health & Services. Sterling earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Experimental Psychology and a Master’s Degree in the same field, both from Washington State University, along with dual Bachelor's Degrees in Psychology and Sociology, Criminal Justice Track from Whitworth University.
